The Author

My name is Jared Hunt, I am 30 years old, and I live in Brisbane. After finishing high school, I began an apprenticeship as a Fitter and Turner, and this has been my career path ever since. I work full-time as a Maintenance Supervisor in one of the world's largest construction recycling companies, and I run The Guide to Life After School in the background. The idea for writing The Guide came about one day while I was driving to work. It was simply a thought of, 'I should try writing a book teaching all the basics for life after school.' Later that day I found myself with some spare time and the idea was still very much forefront of my mind, so I made a start. Within no time at all I had written 2,000 words, a very basic outline of several chapters, and a commitment to finish it and see where it went. Fast forward a little over 18 months and here we are. While this is simply a short introduction, let it also serve a second purpose and encourage you to not hold back from trying something new. Give it your best go and see what happens.
